Experience Nature! Northern Ontario Walleye Fishing

Northern Ontario is known to have thousands of lakes untouched by humans.  So if anyone really wants to explore the wonders of nature, believe me, Northern Ontario will be the best place to visit. 

Northern Ontario lakes are rich with varieties of fish.  The most popular ones are the walleye.  Walleye fishing in Northern Ontario is known around the world.  It is secluded and your catch will definitely be a bountiful one.

Most fishing in Northern Ontario is the so called fly-in fishing.  This means that you need to have some flying time to reach the wild lakes of Northern Ontario.  Almost all the lake sites here are accessible only by a sea plane or the float plane.  But the wonderful thing is, when you are finally here, you are going to realize that it is worth it.

Usually, you are going to spend at least a week to experience the fishing paradise here, but it will depend on you if you will stay longer.  If you have the money, there are cozy homes where you can stay.  Also, there are resorts that will provide everything from jigs, lures and fishing rods to get a head start on your day of walleye fishing. 

Now, its time for you to catch your walleye.  Walleye in Northern Ontario are desirably big. 

One of the easiest and most effective ways to catch walleye is to use weighed jigs that weighs for about 3/8 ounce.  Dress it with marabou feathers and minnows.  Walleye like baits a lot.  Most fishermen get the biggest ones because they prepare their jigs with attractive bait.

During the mid-summer, walleye stay off of the surface; they go deeper because of the hot climate.  They usually swim deeper into the main lake.  This time you need to have good tactics to catch walleye.  The popular spring tactics will still do but be sure to put on a heavier jigs and lures.

On the fishing rods, fishermen are advised to bring with them the rods that they are comfortable using.  The most popular ones are the spinning and casting outfits.  Just throw your fishing rod lightly to set your hook.
